Divisional Conclave 6th September 2025 |
|
Following a week of somewhat changeable weather, the Sun shone brightly upon the knights of the Division of West Lancashire, along with their guests, as they made their way to Brookfield, Westhoughton Masonic Hall, for the Annual Conclave meeting of the Division. The car park was fairly full, a good indication of a good turnout and always a great start to the season. |

The knights were assembled in the main temple and the processions of distinguished guests and the Divisional team entered the meeting under the direction of the Divisional Marshal Darren Brown and under an Arch of Steel provided by the Seplchre Guard comanded by Ill. Kt. Jason Nash, Grand Standard Bearer Constantine.
The R.Ill. Knight Graham Edwin Williams, Intendant General, welcomed all to the meeting and informed us that his deputy, V.Ill Kt. Stephen Mark Gregory, could not be with us being a Covid casualty, we hope you make a quick recovery Stephen.
The meeting was opened and the distinguished guests, all 40 of them were welcomed and in return gave their greetings for a successful meeting.
As is always the case at such meetings, a brief recognition of those who have passed to higher service was held and on this occasion included the passing of the Duchess of Kent who was of course quiet well connected in masonic circles.
Admin then occupied the next several items, but these were discharged in an efficient manner by the Divisional Recorder Alex Prescott and the Intendant General. We were soon into the main business of the morning, appointments and promotions. |
|
The Deputy IG was reappointed and Alex Prescott was invested as the Divisional Eusebius. The remaining officers were Appointed and Invested which included a new Divisional Recorder Ill Kt. Geoff Jackson. Sadly, Geoff couldn’t be with us as he is isolating in preparation for surgery, we hope all goes well Geoff and you soon back with us. |
|
Another change of officer was the Deputy Marshal Ray Pye, retiring after a stint of 14 years on the team, which had included a period as Marshal. The Intendant General took the opportunity to congratulate Ray on his past services to the Order and especially this Division.
The remaining business was transacted and Graham closed the meeting. We all retired to the dining room where we were served a pleasant repast in good, like-minded company. |
|
Speeches were short and we were soon back on the road to our homes feeling content at the conclusion of another day of excellent Red Cross Masonry.
